Packy was the first elephant born in the western hemisphere in almost 50 years when he tumbled in this world at the Oregon Zoo in 1962, and was the oldest Asian elephant in North America when he passed in 2017. A painting of his face decorated the entire side of a city building in downtown Portland for decades. R.I.P., old man. You were a delight to visit.
